Lynne has a degree in Modern Languages and a wide background in education in both secondary and primary schools. She has worked as a consultant at local, regional and national level and has been independent since 2011.
A governor for over 20 years, she has served in many different contexts. She was a Cohort 1 National Leader of Governance (NLG) when the role was voluntary; and again when it became a consultancy role until national designations ended in October 2023. She has NCTL accreditation, qualifying her to conduct External Reviews of Governance (ERGs), of which she now has over 10 years’ experience.
Within the Diocese of Salford, in addition to her current role as a Foundation Director and Vice-Chair of the Emmaus CAT, she has served at a Catholic primary school, and as an IEB Member at a Catholic high school, where she remained after academy conversion on the Local Governing Body (LGB). On occasion, she has been appointed as an Additional Governor. As well as being a Director of the Diocesan Schools Building Project, she is Diocesan Leader of Governance and a regular contributor on a variety of Diocesan CPDF programmes, presenting at conferences; and through ERGs providing tailored, sustained support and developmental training for governing boards. She has extensive experience of leadership recruitment, appraisal and governor panels.
She believes firmly in the value of faith education; and that the sharing of research-based good practice is the most effective way to improve pupil outcomes.
