Rebecca joined the Emmaus Central Team in June 2025 as Safeguarding Support Officer and is based within the Primary Education Team. Rebecca is a qualified and registered Social Worker with over 20 years experience of working with children and families in various roles including family support work, statutory agencies, education and the voluntary sector and Rebecca holds a BSc Honours degree in Psychology (achieved in 2007), a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (2011) and a Masters degree in Social Work (2013) and is qualified as a Practice Educator (for social work students).
Rebecca has held Designated Safeguarding Lead roles for the past 10 years, which has included school based social work across various primary and secondary schools within the diocese of Salford. Prior to joining the Emmaus CAT Central Team, Rebecca held a lead safeguarding role in a large secondary school within Emmaus CAT for two years.
Rebecca is passionate about safeguarding children and offers particular skills in child-centred and relationship-based interventions in schools, having developed a keen interest in trauma-informed practice. She prides herself on working creatively, to ensure that children’s voices and lived experiences are heard and advocated for by professionals.
