Simon graduated with a degree in Ancient History from St David’s University College, Lampeter before completing a PGCE at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Simon has over 25 years’ experience within the education sector. As a headteacher, Simon led a primary school from an Inadequate Ofsted rating to Good within a short time frame. He spent over five years as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI) with Ofsted. As part of this role, Simon inspected primary, special schools and independent schools as well as ITE providers. Simon also presented to Multi-academy Trusts and governors about the Education Inspection Framework on it’s introduction. Before joining Emmaus CAT, Simon worked as an Education Consultant across the North West, this work included supporting mainstream and special schools. Simon also delivered training for local authorities on supporting pupils with SEND and developing reading provisions in schools.
